 Subject verb and agreement সকল ক্লাসের জন্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটি টপিক। এই টপিক ভাল করে না পারলে Grammar এর আগা মাথা খুজে পাবেন না। তাই মনদিয়ে কয়েক বার পড়ুন।  

★ NU এর অনার্স ২য় ও ডিগ্রি ৩য় বর্ষে যে প্রশ্ন হয়, তার মধ্যে এই অংশ হতে দুইটি আইটেম থাকে। [ নিম্নে বিগত বছরের প্রশ্ন সমাধাণ করে দেওয়া আছে]

Subject verb and agreement 

1. And দ্বারা দুইটি Noun / pronoun যুক্ত হলে এদের পর plural Verb হবে। যেমন --He and I are doing the work.

2. The + Noun+ and+ Noun +........+ Singular verb. [ ভাল করে পড়তে হবে, কারণ 3 নং stc এটা প্রায় একি রকম, সতর্ক না হলে ভুল হবে পরীক্ষায়] যেমন: The headmaster and secretary of the school was present in the meeting.[ Singular verb- was]

3. The + Noun + and + The + Noun +...... + plural verb. যেমন- The headmaster and The secretary of the school were  present in the meeting.

4. Each & Every এদের পর Verb singular হয়। যেমন- Each boy and girl is  present today. 

5. One of/ Each of/ Either of/ nither of এর পর Verb singular হবে। যেমন - One of my friends are a lawyer. One of my Friends is a lawyer. Note : Noun plural হলেও Verb singular  হবে।

 6. Indefinite pronoun[ Everybody, everyone ,  somebody,  Nobody,  None etc] এর পর Verb singular হবে। যেমন- Nobody believes me. 

7.  Or, either... or, nithar...... nor, not...... but,  not only.......  but also এদের পরের subject অনুযায়ী Verb হবে। যেমন- Malek or his brother has done the work. [এখানে or এর পরের Subject, his brother ]

Note: Both....... And এর পরে কিন্তু Verb plural হবে। যেমন- Both he and I are present today. 

8. As well as, in addition to, along with,  together with থাকলে এদের পূর্ববর্তি Subject অনুযায়ি Verb. হবে। যেমন- Malek together with his friends is going to school. 

9. কিছু Collective noun এর পর Verb singular হয়।  তবে যদি বাক্যে Divided লেখা থাকে তাহলে Verb  plural হয়। যেমন-The jury has orderd to hang the person. The jury are divided in their opinions. 

Note: cattle,  people এদের পরে Verb plural হবে। যেমন- Cattle are grazing in the field.  

10. Miles, News,  Mathematics,  physics, politics etc..  এদের পর Verb singular হয়। যেমন-  good news is expected. 

11. দেশ,  বই, ম্যাগাজিন,  চলচিত্র,  সংবাদপত্র  এদের পর Verb singular হবে।যেমন- The Arabian Nights is still a great favourite. 

12. A pair,   a dozen,  hundred এদের পর Verb singular হয়। যেমন- A pair of  shoes was bought for him.

13.  ভগ্নাংশের পরের  Subject অনুযায়ি  Verb হবে।যেমন- One - third of the work is done [ এখানে The work, singular ]

 14. A number of এদের পর Noun & Verb দুইটাই plural. 

Note : The number of এদের পর Noun plural কিন্তু Verb singular.যেমন- A number of students are present today. The number of people was very high. 

15. Here / there / Adjective Subject হতে পারে না,  তাদের গঠন নিম্ন রূপ। There/ Adjective + Singular verb/ plural verb + singular Noun/ plural Noun + other. 

Note : subject singular হলে Verb ও Singular হবে।  Subject plural হলে Verb ও plural হবে। যেমন- I think that there was a problem. Sweet are the uses of adversity. 

16. Many এর পর Subject ও Verb দিইটাই plural হবে। যেমন- Many boys are playing cricket. Note: many a এর পর  subject ও verb দুইটাই singular. যেমন many a boy is playing football. 

17.  Infinitive / gerund subject হলে Verb  singular হবে। যেমন- To swim is good exercise. 

18. be = am, is, are[ present Tense] was, were [ past Tense. [ Subject singular হলে Verb ও singular হবে।  Subject plural হলে Verb ও plural হবে] যেমন- There (be) a pen. Ans: is [ You (be) a good boy. Ans: Are]

19.  একাদিক Pronoun ব্যবহারের করার সময় অপরাধ সিকার করলে [ 123 ] [ 1st,2nd, 3rd person] হবে।  সাধারণ ক্ষেত্রে 231 [ person] যেমন- You rupa and I are guilty.  Ans: I, you and Rupa are guilty. 

Note : Adjective এর পূর্বে The দিলে তা plural Common Noun হয়।  তাই Verb plural হয়। 

20.  Most এর অর্থ যখন Very  বা খুব বেশি বুঝায় তখন The এর পরিবর্তে   Most এর পূর্বে a বসে। [ এটা পরীক্ষার হলে সবাই ভুল করবে, তাই ভাল করে পড়ে যান। ]যেমন- This is a most interesting story. He saw a most wonderful sight. Note: উদাহরণ দুইটি যেকোনো পরীক্ষার জন্য কমন।

বিঃদ্র- যদি পড়ে না যান পরীক্ষার হলে কনফিউশনে পরবেন।

➡️ Nu এর প্রশ্ন সমাধান [পরীক্ষা 2022 ] 

1. You rupa and I are guilty. 

Ans: I, you and Rupa are guilty [ নিয়ম -  19]

2. Sixty miles are long way. 

Ans: Sixty miles is long way. [10 -no rule]

3. The honest wins finally. 

Ans: The honest win finally. [ Rule -19 এর Note অংশ দেখুন ] 

4.  If I was a king I would help the poor.

Ans: If I were a king I would help the poor. [আমার Blog এর Conditional অংশ দেখুন]

5. This is the most unique case.

Ans : This is a most unique case. [ 20 No Rule দেখুন] [কঠিন প্রশ্ন ছিল এটা অনেকেই বুঝবে না কি সমস্যা আছে বাক্যে।

6. I read  for three hours. 

Ans: I have been reading for three hours. [এই blog এর preposition অংশ দেখুন since, for এর ব্যবহার] 

7. He went out just now. 

Ans: He has gone out just now. [Right form Of verb অংশে আলোচনা করা হবে]

★ Subject verb and agreement যে আইটেমে বেশি আসে।

1) Sentence correction অংশে। 2) pin point Error অংশে।

Subject verb and agreement অংশ টুকু বেশি কমন, তাই বেশি বেশি পড়েন, এবং প্রেকটিস করেন। দেখবেন পরীক্ষার হলে কনফিউশন হচ্ছে না।
